If I hadn't already been booked, I would've been right there with you - have a great time!
And put in a good word with the Prez - perhaps we can get a little TARP money for the manor? ; D

Larry, this is fantastic. Of course, I knew about it but it's great to see it in print too. And I'm proud that so many of my friends are going to be performing the White House! (ok, and a little jealous too) Have a great time!

Peter and Cathy,
Thanks for the suggestion. My concern is that in the limited time we have, I'm not sure if it makes more sense to try to copy something that's already a great sculpture, and risk not being able to complete it (which certainly wouldn't do it justice) or do something patriotic that's made of several smaller component pieces. I think we're leaning more toward several symbols of American patriotism. For a TV appearance this morning, I made a bald eagle in a similar pose to that seen in the US Great Seal. Something like that will make a great photo backdrop, as it's highly recognizable and I know it can be completed along with a few other pieces.

Larry,
Sounds like a great opportunity, can I make a suggestion? Do the Iwo Jima Memorial - U. S. Marine Corps War Memoria. The dark colors will really make the American flags stand out.
