It’s a girl: Venus is born

It’s been a long few days.  Thanks to everyone that’s been following the Venus project.  It’s been fun.  I’m looking forward to seeing what other artists  have done for ArtPrize.  But right now, I’m tired. If you’re in Grand Rapids, come see the final sculpture this week.  It will be around until the end of ArtPrize, but these are balloons.  You know how that goes.  They won’t look as sharp a week from now.

I’ll write more soon.  Right now, I’m going to sleep.

The flow of the figures and the fabric is wonderful. I can almost feel the air moving through the scene.
I would, however, love to see all this wonderful work surrounded in a full set that cuts out electrical outlets, bare walls etc. Maybe you can gather enough photos of elements to recompose the overall picture in photoshop or something. Your work is worthy of a better display than we see here.

Awesome! Congrats on an awesome job!

  3. I like the wall on the right. It seems to fit the European feel of the sculpture. You’re right about the electrical outlets.

This is a wonderful sculpture. You guys did an incredible job. I’ll keep it in my short list of pics to show people the evolution of balloon art. Thanks for sharing this, Larry.

Fantastic! Awesome work. Congratulations! I especially like the detail of the flowers falling and the other plants in the foreground. Rest well.

  6. A picture is worth a thousand words… and I can’t seem to put two together after seeing your work! I’m sure its even more spectacular in real life. Great job! Thanks for sharing… We are blessed because of you.

WORDS CANNOT DESCRIBE THE AWE-FACTOR THAT MY EYES ARE SEEING.
TO RECREATE SUCH A PAINTING WITH BALLOONS SHOWS THAT THERE ARE NO BOUNDRIES WITH HOW AN ARTIST AND CREW CAN CREATE A WONDERFUL WORK OF ART IN A DIFFERENT WAY. WONDERFUL JOB TO ALL THAT PARTICIPATED.

  9. Awesome! Very beautiful work!

  11. I am always amazed at how your creative mind works. As usual, beautiful and amazing work.
