Maker Faire Dubai
Giant Balloon Makey, the mascot of Maker Faire, visited Maker Faire Dubai last week. How do we know that? Because the photos show him standing in front of the Burj Khalifa, an iconic structure in the heart of Dubai.
It was really exciting being asked to build a replica of the Burj Khalifa. Of course, we do the bulk of our projects indoors, and a replica of the tallest building in the world clearly wasn't going to fit inside another building. Instead, we opted to create a 1/125 scale, 2D image of the Burj Khalifa. This 6.5 meter tall Bubble Mural stood behind Makey.
Hundreds of visitors to the Maker Faire participated in the construction of the Bubble Mural while a four person team of Airigami Artists (Larry, Kelly, John, and Avery) constructed the four meter Makey.
