One small step

This 65-foot tall Space Shuttle was built by Airigami for the 2014 Transplant Games of America in Houston, Texas.

On July 20, 1969, humans walked on another world for the first time. Fifty years later, on July 20, 2019, we will be part of Washington D.C.’s Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum’s “The Eagle Has Landed” Late-Night Celebration from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. We will create a 12-foot astronaut boot (based on Neil Armstrong’s actual boot) entirely out of latex balloons. It will then be lowered to the floor of the museum at approximately the same time that Armstrong’s foot touched the surface of the moon 50 years ago: 10:56 p.m.

Our last space-themed installation took place at the Transplant Games of America in Houston in 2014. It’s exciting to be part of this celebration.
